Cover your body and vessel with a blanket like a tent. Keep your eyes closed and inhale the steam deeply. Lean over the vessel so as to let the vapor warm your face, the inside of the mouth, the nasal passage, and even the chest.
Another way of treating the common cold would be to consume Vitamin C laden fruits and juices. Lemons and lime are just two of the fruits which are normally loaded with Vitamin C, and you can treat yourself to a glass of lemon or lime juice laced with a few drops of honey. Oranges may be too sweet and are thus best switched with either lemon or lime.
Before you go to bed, soak a pair of cotton ankle socks in cold water and wring out the excess water. Warm up your feet for about 10 to 15 minutes in hot water. Then put on the cold socks. On top of them, put on a pair of dry thermal socks, and go to bed.
